** You may notice some changes here... **

Dear Community Members!

We updated the community platform overnight on 31st Jan/1st Feb.

Most of the changes are hidden away from view in the 'backend', but you may notice some cosmetic improvements, too.

Most importantly, we are trialling a 'threaded post' view in one group - here.

Please let us know what you think.

  • Me again. Following my post re not having a 'like' button and then seeing the up and down arrows and realising what they were for.

This morning I can see these arrows on some responses but they are not tbere on the most recent post (the one headed 'would you work for a start up company - sorry forgot  posters name).

When there are the up and down arrows visible if I click on the up button a pop-up window appears telling me that 'log in successful'. However, when looking again at the post it does show that I have 'liked' it.

I also noticed, although they have since been removed, that once again the changes your IT made allowed in 'spam/spoof' (?) emails E.g. the ones offering bogus qualifications etc. Surely this has happened so often when making changed that your IT now know about this issue yet time and again do not take it into consideration when making changes

I am beginning to feel the same as Peter regarding the faffing around at what appears to be every time your IT try to change things. This is one reason why I will not use the CIPD app - I have absolutely no faith in your IT.

  • Hi Susan, we're only experimenting with the loss of the 'like' function and the replacement of the voting up or down here in the 'feedback' part of the Community. On the other threads on this Community you'll still see the 'like' option. Interested if you have any feedback on this? Thanks!

  • Good morning

I did notice that some postings still had the original like button whilst others had arrows. My preference would be for the like button but can understand if some would prefer the new version. Just a suggestion but if you are going to change then perhaps use the thumb up and thumb down button to make it clearer?

  • I agree - it's not that intuitive. We may well revert back to the likes instead of the votes - this thread is a trial of it. Thanks for your thoughts on it Susan and thanks for your patience while we work through these teething problems.
