MCIPD Experience Assessment

Hello community.

I have just registered to start my experience assessment for MCIPD and was wondering if anyone else was just starting the process as well. It would be great to buddy up and share thoughts about the process.

I’m very much a non standard HR professional, I used to work as an engineer and transitioned into HR via data, reporting and systems, later working on culture change, employee insights and now reward. I’m a commercially aware mathematics graduate with 9 years’ experience in HR across a range of industries.

It would be great to connect with others going through the same process (and happy to connect with others who have already done so).

Hi Alison. I'm 11 days in now and I feel like I'm making good progress. I've completed my Self Assessment, I've nominated my colleagues for the Colleague Assessment and I am now on with the Impact Report, though only just started it really. I have my professional discussion scheduled as well.

Hi Sarah.

Thanks for this, very helpful. I don't submit until June 14th so planning on using the next bank holiday to my advantage!

How have you found the impact assessment? I have found it interesting and different to what I had prepped for after my professional discussion. The bullet points have taking me slightly off course to how I would want to answer the main question, and the word count is quite restrictive.

Anyway quite enjoying the challenge so far, just want to make sure I am on the right lines with all this work.

Good luck with the last part. I hope you can enjoy a nice drink after your final submission.

Not a problem, please feel free to drop me a note again if you need to bounce your thoughts and ideas around some more.

I'd second Sarah's note about not doing anything else on the overall assessment while doing the case study. There is more than enough to keep you occupied and trying to do other elements during the two weeks you have is liable to be a distraction you don't need.

Hi Andrew. So I clicked GO on the case study report on Friday. I have started writing today. Did you take any time off work to complete this? I am a little concerned about the 14 days as I don't tend to get much evening time in the week?

Also would love to PM you to ask a few more questions, however it does not seem to allow me onto your profile?

A very useful read :)
I only wish I had time to "Take time out"!
Unfortunately the way I work, "Multi-tasking", this however worked for me, as I was able to focus during the time I set myself and not "over dwell".
Considering I am waiting for my results !, lets see if this method worked!.

Hi Hayley, did you just say you've done the whole thing (with days left to spare)? :-). Seriously that's great! Any celebrations yet? I am on day 4 of case study...the fun of it (not). At the stage where starts forming ideas of a path to take...I've got a headache :-). Congs on wrapping things up.
