MCIPD Experience Assessment

Hello community.

I have just registered to start my experience assessment for MCIPD and was wondering if anyone else was just starting the process as well. It would be great to buddy up and share thoughts about the process.

I’m very much a non standard HR professional, I used to work as an engineer and transitioned into HR via data, reporting and systems, later working on culture change, employee insights and now reward. I’m a commercially aware mathematics graduate with 9 years’ experience in HR across a range of industries.

It would be great to connect with others going through the same process (and happy to connect with others who have already done so).

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Everyone,
I just started my EA and its day 1. I am lost to be honest. Any advice on how to get on from start. So far, I know that i have to nominate two colleagues for the feedback report, which is straight forward. Any tips on what to focus on completing first or any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone is starting now or recently started, would love to buddy up to go through the journey together.

    Much thanks !

  • Hi Imran, how are you getting on? I’m starting my EA this week keen to hear other experiences!
  • Hey Rebecca,

Good stuff! I have submitted all my reports as my deadline was 23rd. Will start prep for my professional discussion now that is due on the 24th.

Feel free to get in touch if you stuck somewhere or need general support etc. happy to help and good luck!
  • That’s good news, and way ahead of schedule. Any top tips? The language and structure for me I think will take a bit of getting my head around....
  • I am not sure whether I am qualified enough yet to give anyone any tips, as I only submitted the reports as we speak (lol)

What I did, copied all the reports to word files, noted down the examples as they came as this is how I function, didn’t want to miss on any good example or forget later.
Read the questions and the consult with the corresponding professional map section, that helped me in structuring my example and can provide help with the language too.

Be very concise, less words are better rather than putting stories.
Ensure impact is highlighted at the end of each example (chartered members).

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Imran
