What level of qualification?

When looking at vacancies alot of companies state they want someone at least CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualified.  What level would the Chartered FMCIPD be classed as or would we just need to explain to them that there is no actual qualification, this is a level of membership that we have been assessed on?

I am currently L5 but looking to completed my EA for Chartered Fellow but would I still then just state I am L5 qualified as this could rule me out of roles I am experienced enough to do?

Thanks

  • Hi Charlotte,

There is a structured progression through CIPD membership.

An Associate can have achived a Level 5 (as you have)... or a Level 7 qualification.

The next stage would be to progress to Chartered Membership. To upgrade, you must hold a Level 7 Advanced Diploma (or equivalent), and have demonstarted at least one year of strategic/operational experience at that level within the last five years.

To upgrade to Chartered Fellow requires a Level 7 qualification (or equivalent), and very importantly... significant senior strategic experience and the ability to demonstrate leadership and strategic impact.
