If a policy states
Absence through normal sickness is entirely separate from absence due to industrial disease, accident or assault arising out of or in the course of employment with a local authority. Periods of absence in respect of one shall not be off set against the other for the purpose of calculating entitlements under the scheme.
If someone is entitled to 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay and they had 5 months off due to an accident at work then 2 months off due to general illness should they be on half pay or should the 5 months off due to the accident not be added to the other absences?
