Insurance and CIPD?

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of if there are any Insurers who require organisations to have trained/chartered HR personnel? And if so, who?

Thanks,

Luke

  • Not heard of such a thing as asking for Chartered HR but could see why insurers would want all departments to have suitably qualified/expereinced staff.

Hi Luke can you expand on your question please, not 100% clear what you are asking. Thanks!

    Hi Johanna,

Is there an insurance (liability / PI) product that requires the employer to either be a people development partner or have Chartered HR? And if anything like this might be in the works, to your knowledge?

To the best of my knowledge, this is about as close as it gets:

    www.hse.gov.uk/.../competentperson.htm

    - not insurers, directly, but the legal duty of all employers. And many insurers demand up to date risk assessments, which obviously aren't valid unless done by one way or the other competent people - but not of course necessarily CIPD or even IOSH folk.........
